Established in 1718 1718 as Mission San Antonio de Valero, for more than 300 years, the previous mission now known as the Alamo has been an intersection of history. Having existed under six banners of free countries and filled in as an army for five unique armed forces, the Alamo has a rich history and a legacy to move all Texans. Despite the fact that the site is best known as the site of the 1836 Battle of the Alamo, every one of the 300 years of Alamo history are imperative to our story.
