In this weekend workshop, high school students will learn classic techniques for drawing from life using charcoal drawing in San Antonio!
Event Details
In this still life drawing workshop, students will draw objects from observation to create one or two finished still life artworks over the course of the week.
Participants will learn classical techniques for working from life, including still life arrangement and setup, sighting techniques called “comparative measuring” and “enveloping” and an introduction to the materials and processes involved in toned paper charcoal drawing.
Students will begin with setting up still lifes and creating a contour line drawing, followed by a two-value statement and then adding final rendering.
Students will share their finished pieces and have new drawings celebrating their chosen objects to take home and enjoy!
